The idea was never the problem.

We do the legwork schools don’t have time for. Finding the funding, writing the applications, and managing the reporting so teachers and paraprofessionals can pursue the ideas they’d otherwise have to abandon.

Schools pay nothing. There is no fee, no retainer, and no percentage of an award. Legwork is funded independently of the schools it serves, and no school is ever asked to contribute to our operating costs.

What we believe

• Teachers and paraprofessionals know what their students need. They should not have to become grant writers to act on that knowledge.
• The barrier to funding is almost never the idea. It is the time and expertise required to find the right funder, write a competitive application, and manage the compliance.
• Schools deserve a straight answer. If there is nothing out there right now, we say so. If the honest answer is that we are not the right people to help, we say that too.
• Schools choose their own providers. We never recommend vendors, steer purchases, or take a cut of anything an award pays for.

Legwork Educator Support NFP is a nonprofit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Illinois. Our application for recognition of exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is pending.

We are not currently soliciting contributions, and donations are not tax-deductible at this time. This status will be updated here when the determination letter is received.

Independence

Legwork operates independently. No outside organization holds a seat on our board, participates in our grant research or writing, or influences our funding decisions. Schools are free to work with any provider they choose, and we never recommend one.
